Mike Shannon

Mike Shannon is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Spitball: The Literary Baseball Magazine, established in 1981.  Mike is also author of 17 baseball books, including Diamond Classics: Essays on 100 of the Best Baseball Books Ever; Baseball: The Writer's Game; Tales from the Dugout and More Tales from the Dugout, and several popular books about the Cincinnati Reds. 

Mike was given the 2009 Tony Salin Memorial Award by the Baseball Reliquary. 

He lives in Cincinnati, OH with his beautiful wife, the former Kathy Dermody, and their five children.
